Senior UX Writer · Amazon
Jennifer Diffley Robertson
I turn complicated systems into language people can trust and act on — from Amazon’s first supply-side ad platform to conversational AI shopping.
About
Part boundary pusher, part psychologist.
I’m a UX writer, senior copywriter, and digital content manager rolled into one — with a dump truck full of “I’ll learn that so I know it.”
At Amazon I’ve been the principal writer on products that had no vocabulary yet: a self-service supply-side advertising platform, a branded AI shopping assistant, and sponsored local services. That work is less about polishing microcopy and more about deciding what things are called, what order they’re understood in, and what a customer is entitled to know before they commit.
Before UX writing, I spent a decade in brand and campaign copy — autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, beauty. It taught me how to make highly technical subject matter into something someone actually wants to read.
- UX writing — wireframes to A/B testing
- Foundational documents — content style guides to workflow processes
- Information architecture — taxonomy, naming systems, content hierarchy
- Conversation design — AI personality, prompts, dialogue flows
- Cross-functional partnership — design, PM, engineering, applied science, legal
- Performance metrics — Google Analytics to in-platform data

Case studies
UX writing work
Three zero-to-one products at Amazon. Each case study covers the problem, my process, the design artifacts, and what shipped. They’re password protected — the work includes unreleased interfaces.
PubTech
Amazon · Principal UX Writer
Amazon’s advertising inventory was bought through manual email negotiation. PubTech turned it into the company’s first self-service supply-side platform — and I defined the language, taxonomy, and information architecture that made it usable.
Brand Agent
Amazon · Principal UX Writer
A branded AI shopping assistant for high-consideration categories. I defined the agent’s personality, prompts, and conversational patterns — then spent several rounds of testing making it feel fast, trustworthy, and genuinely useful.
Sponsored Services
Amazon · Principal UX Writer
Sponsored local service ads embedded in the shopping journey. I evaluated the customer journey, rebuilt the quote flow, and pushed back on product assumptions about what a shopper needs to know before contacting a stranger.

Recommendations
What colleagues say
From LinkedIn recommendations by people I’ve worked alongside.
Jenn is one of the most creative and talented writers I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She makes creative brainstorming and content ideation look easy, not to mention her insane ability to take highly-technical subject matter and produce something you actually want to read. She’s also an incredible mentor and teacher, which is a “must” for building any creative team. I’d work with her again in a heartbeat.
Jenn is an incredible writer. She is deeply knowledgeable about history and culture, bringing salience to whatever topic she’s writing about and making her work feel like a critical component of a broader whole. Whatever she writes I always feel is crucial to read, and it will teach you something beyond the topic you thought you were there for.
